This War of Mine: Memories From the Past is a storytelling-focused board game for 1–6 players, with a play time of 120 minutes. Released in 2017, it centers on exploring how a chosen Character thinks and reacts.

Memories From the Past focuses heavily on the storytelling aspect of the game. Rather than presenting a systematic way to check a Character’s thoughts, it uses a more open-ended approach to reveal how that Character would respond to the situation at hand.

The key moment comes when a Character is drawn. That Character checks how he or she would react to the current situation, with the response based on the individual’s background and personality.
