About this expansion

Partisan: ASL Module 4 is a two-player World War II infantry combat module for games lasting about 120 minutes. Its eight scenarios portray Resistance forces from various countries fighting German and Axis Minor troops occupying their lands.

Designed for Advanced Squad Leader, the module focuses on basic infantry combat. Maneuver squads and leaders, position supporting weapons, and face vicious ambushes, surprise raids, and set-piece assaults across the cities, forests, and mountains of Europe.

The scenarios offer a wide range of forces and situations. Players may command elite Germans, poorly equipped but highly motivated freedom fighters, or low-grade occupation troops. The selection also varies in scale, from large, high-piece-density engagements to smaller scenarios with quick setups.

  • Eight scenarios, numbered 27 through 34
  • One countersheet of Axis Minor infantry and support weapons
  • Board 10 with new, revised artwork
  • Board 32 with dense woods, a stream, and a small cluster of buildings
  • One three-dimensional scenario featuring action both above and below ground

The underground scenario, Subterranean Quarry, uses separate boards for the above-ground and below-ground levels, creating a distinctive battlefield within the module. The scenario list also includes The Liberation of Tulle, Ambush!, The Globus Raid, Sylvan Death, The Old Town, The Cossacks are Coming, and A New Kind of Foe.

Partisan: ASL Module 4 requires ASL, Beyond Valor, and Squad Leader boards 1–4 to play. With its varied historical situations, opposing troop qualities, and compact or large-scale engagements, it provides a broad assortment of infantry-focused scenarios for ASL players.
