The Quest for El Dorado: Dragons, Treasures & Mysteries is an adventure board game for 2–4 players with a playing time of 60 minutes.

Journey through landscapes filled with crocodiles, rushing rivers, dragons, and dark mists. This expansion introduces three modules that add new objectives, obstacles, and ways to alter the terrain during the adventure.

• Treasures: Each player receives treasure chest tokens and places them on terrain tiles. When an explorer stops next to a face-up token, its owner may meet the listed requirement, usually by discarding a certain amount or total value of cards in one color. A collected chest can be spent to move an explorer up to two spaces, while collecting four treasure chest tokens wins the game immediately.
• Dragons: Four colored dragon pawns begin asleep on separate terrain tiles. When an explorer enters a tile with a sleeping dragon, it awakens and prevents movement through or next to its space. Playing a card matching the dragon’s color allows the creature to move one space, potentially clearing a route or blocking another explorer. New cards also provide dragon-related actions.
• Mysteries: Smaller terrain tiles covered by dark mists are placed on normal terrain tiles. When an explorer stops next to one, it is revealed, awarding the player a bonus token and exposing a new terrain layout. The revealed tile can then be rotated and placed to create new jungle, water, and other terrain spots.
