Zooloretto: Job Boards

About this expansion

Zooloretto: Job Boards is an expansion for 2–5 players that enhances the normal Zooloretto rules with secret mission cards and takes about 45 minutes to play.

At the beginning of the game, each player receives one of the five cards included in the expansion. Every card shows three animal types, and the card must be kept secret from the other players throughout the game.

These hidden objectives add a personal scoring target to a standard Zooloretto game. Rather than sharing the same priorities, players can work toward the animal types shown on their own card while continuing to play by the normal rules.

At the end of the game, the three animal types on a player’s mission card are scored from top to bottom:

• The first animal type scores 3 points for every full enclosure containing that animal.
• The second animal type scores 2 points for every full enclosure containing that animal.
• The third animal type receives no minus points for that animal in the stable.

The order of the animal types therefore matters, with different rewards attached to each position. Keeping the card secret gives the mission an element of uncertainty as opponents try to understand which animals may be most valuable to you.

Released in 2008, Zooloretto: Job Boards can be used to add these mission cards to the core game. It is also included in the Rio Grande Games Expansion Pack #2, which contains several mini expansions.
