Operation Veritable: ASL Historical Study 1945 Rhine is a high-complexity historical study for 2 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes or more. It examines the British and Canadian offensive to reduce the Reichswald and clear German forces from west of the Rhine in early 1945.

The battles unfold amid dense woods, mud, rain, and flooded terrain. Confident Allied troops face German defenders who remain surprisingly effective, creating a demanding World War Two setting for the Advanced Squad Leader system.

Operation Veritable includes 16 scenarios, combining situations played on standard geomorphic mapboards with battles fought on an enclosed historical mapsheet. That historical mapsheet also supports an intense Campaign game, while the scenarios offer varied engagements across the offensive.

This is not a complete game. Players need the ASL Rulebook, Beyond Valor, and the British order of battle, previously available in West of Alamein and reissued in For King and Country. Eleven scenarios also require boards or overlays not included in this study.

Additional requirements include deluxe boards c, g, and/or h for two scenarios, plus various boards and overlays from other ASL products for the remaining scenarios. Released in 2003, Operation Veritable is designed for two-player or team play and provides a focused historical examination of the fight for the approaches to the Rhine.
