Batman: Gotham City Chronicles – Versus Expansion is a 2019 expansion for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. It introduces a dedicated mode where one player faces another, bringing the opposition at the heart of the Batman universe directly to the table.

In Versus mode, each player controls their forces through a separate command board, creating a more focused skirmish feel. The mode also adds an activation pool and a recovery system, similar to the way the Reserve and Fatigue zones work. Players decide how many tiles they want to activate each turn, helping determine the pace of the game.

The expansion strengthens the heroes’ side with additional characters and allies. It includes 55 tiles to play the Hero’s characters, along with 12 ally miniatures to boost the heroes’ forces against the already numerous goons on the villains’ side.
