About this expansion

Batman: Gotham City Chronicles – Arkham Asylum Expansion is a board game expansion for 2–4 players, with an approximate play time of 90 minutes. It adds two new game boards and six scenarios to the Gotham City Chronicles experience.

At Arkham Asylum, violent and criminally insane villains are held in specially constructed cells. When they break free, Batman must bring them back before their darkest whims are realized. The board comes with three scenarios set inside this infamous institution.

The other setting is Jokerland, an abandoned fun fair transformed by the Joker into a personal playground. Its attractions still function, but they have been reshaped from a madman’s point of view, creating an unsettling environment that is far from conventionally fun.

  • Two game boards: Arkham Asylum and Jokerland
  • Three scenarios for each board
  • Double-sided Jokerland attraction overlays
  • A villain-focused box with no heroes included

Jokerland’s attractions can be combined differently from one scenario to the next, providing replayability while changing the atmosphere and terrain types of the map. These shifting layouts affect how the locations are navigated and give each scenario its own distinctive setting.

The expansion is packed with villains, including a horrific faceless version of the Joker, the Mad Hatter, and his inseparable sidekicks, the Tweedle brothers. With its contrasting locations, varied scenarios, and unusual overlays, Batman: Gotham City Chronicles – Arkham Asylum Expansion brings a darker collection of challenges to Gotham.
