About this expansion

Ghost Stories: The Village People Expansion is a 2009 expansion for 1–4 players with a 60-minute play time. It adds four new villager tiles to Ghost Stories, beyond the villager content included in the White Moon expansion.

The set takes its name from a playful reference to Village People, the famous music group associated with the 1977 disco era. The group remains well known for songs including “Y.M.C.A.” and “Macho Man,” as well as its instantly recognizable costumes.

Those musical and visual references are brought directly to the Ghost Stories tiles. The expansion celebrates the group’s memorable imagery through costumes such as the Construction Worker, Sailor, Indian Chief, and Leatherman, with the related songs and costume themes shown on the tiles.

  • 4 new villager tiles
  • Content added beyond the White Moon expansion
  • Artwork inspired by Village People songs and costumes
  • References to “Y.M.C.A.” and “Macho Man”

Originally, this expansion was available only to people who pre-ordered Ghost Stories: White Moon from Repos Production for collection at Essen 2009. It was later made available for purchase through the Repos website.

Ghost Stories: The Village People Expansion is a compact, novelty-focused addition for fans who appreciate the humor behind its theme. With four extra villager tiles and a distinctive disco-era concept, it offers a memorable way to expand the Ghost Stories collection while showcasing one of popular music’s most recognizable visual styles.
