About this board game

K2 is a hand management board game for 1–5 players that challenges teams of two mountaineers to reach the summit and return within 60 minutes.

Each player uses an identical deck of cards to guide their climbers along the route shown on the board or improve their acclimatization. Careful card management is essential: you must decide when to push upward, when to prepare for harsher conditions, and when to wait in a tent for better weather.

The mountain is as dangerous as it is prestigious. Changing weather can reduce a climber’s acclimatization to zero, killing them, while other mountaineers may block important parts of the route. Choosing your path carefully and watching the weather ahead are vital to keeping your team alive.

K2 combines strong player interaction with a low luck factor, making every climb a contest of timing, positioning, and risk management. Its mechanics closely represent the theme, from limited acclimatization and dangerous conditions to the possibility of losing climbers on the ascent.
