About this expansion

Supremacy: Main Battle Tanks is an expansion for 4–8 players, with games lasting about 360 minutes. Released in 1990, it adds miniature battle tanks to Supremacy: The Game of the Superpowers.

Each superpower receives five color-coded, 38mm battle tank miniatures. At the beginning of the game, every player secretly writes down the location of one tank in one of their territories. Players then reveal their choices at the same time, establishing an immediate armored presence on the map.

Tanks require ongoing funding as well as resources for construction. During each year’s Pay Salaries stage, players pay $10 million to the bank for every battle tank they have, or remove tanks they cannot maintain. Additional tanks cost one grain unit, one oil unit, one mineral unit, and $500 million, and players may build as many as they can afford each year.

  • Five color-coded 38mm tanks for each superpower
  • Initial secret placement of one tank per player
  • $10 million annual salary cost for each tank
  • Construction cost of one grain, oil, and mineral unit plus $500 million
  • Fire Power Rating of 5 during battles

Players may move tanks by driving them, airlifting them, or sending them by sea convoy to any territory they own. In battle, each tank adds a Fire Power Rating of 5, giving armored units a direct role in territorial conflicts.

Capturing territory can also expand a player’s armored forces. When a player wins a territory, any opposing tanks there become spoils of war and can be used by the victor. Supremacy: Main Battle Tanks is expanded by Supremacy: Tanks – Warlords and Pirates Blister Pack.
