About this expansion

Supremacy: The Middle Powers is an expansion set for 3–8 players, with an estimated play time of 120 minutes, released in 1988. It introduces two new superpowers—the Federation of Australasia and the Dominion of Canarctica—to the world of Supremacy.

These newly emerged powers can cause major shifts in the global strategic balance. Take on grand strategy from a different perspective as you explore the challenges and opportunities facing the world with two very challenging superpowers.

The Middle Powers expansion is designed for larger games. Use both new powers to support a seven- or eight-player game, or substitute them for two of the original six superpowers included with Supremacy.

For especially demanding combinations, include these powers when using the Random Open rule. The resulting lineup can offer a fresh strategic challenge while changing the way the global balance is approached.

  • Two supply centers: one for each middle power
  • Light-blue armies and navies for Australasia
  • Dark-blue armies and navies for Canarctica
  • Plastic playing pieces for the neutron bombs and killer satellites expansion set for each middle power

For each middle power, the enclosed expansion pieces include 39 colored disks and 18 colored mushroom clouds. With its additional supply centers, distinctive playing-piece colors, and alternative superpower combinations, Supremacy: The Middle Powers expands the range of player counts and strategic possibilities available in Supremacy.
