About this expansion

Valeria: Card Kingdoms – Expansion Pack #07: Ward Towers is a 1–5 player expansion with a 45-minute play time that adds shared construction objectives to the game.

The Ward Tower cards replace one of the Domain stacks. Each tower requires 9 Gold, 9 Strength, and 9 Magic to complete. On a player’s turn, they may take an action to pay one set of these resources and place their Build marker on the tower card.

A Ward Tower is completed when three Build markers have been placed on it. Every player who contributed retrieves their Build markers and flips them to the 5 VP side. The completed Ward Tower card is then placed next to the Monster row.

Each completed tower provides a lasting benefit: the cost to slay any monster is reduced by 1 Strength or 1 Magic, chosen by the player. This reduction is cumulative for every completed Ward Tower and is available to all players, including those who did not contribute to its construction.

Ward Towers creates an incentive to invest resources in a common project while rewarding contributors with victory points and making future monster battles more affordable. The shared benefit means that every player can gain from completed towers, whether or not they helped build them.

Valeria: Card Kingdoms – Expansion Pack #07: Ward Towers is a Kickstarter Limited Exclusive and will not be available at retail. Depending on remaining stock after fulfilling backer rewards, it may be available through the publisher’s website, at conventions, or in the BGG Store.
