About this expansion

ASL Action Pack #4: Normandy 1944 is a two-player scenario bundle for the Advanced Squad Leader system, with an approximate play time of 240 minutes. Set in the bocage country of Normandy after the D-Day invasion, it presents 12 scenarios involving German, American, British, and Polish forces.

The scenarios cover action from 6 June through 20 August 1944, ranging across locations including Les Forges, Ste.-Mere Eglise, Cristot, Caumont l’Evente, Trevieres, Mortain, and Mt. Ormel. Their lengths range from 4.5 to 8 turns, offering a varied collection of engagements within the Normandy campaign.

Alongside the scenario bundle, the pack adds three new ASL geomorphic mapboards: boards 53, 54, and 55. These are presented in a “starter kit-style” format and expand the battlefields available for play.

  • 12 ASL scenarios, AP29 through AP40
  • Three new geomorphic mapboards: 53, 54, and 55
  • Revised second-edition rules pages B9 and B10
  • Expanded clarifications and new examples covering Wall Advantage and Bocage

The revised rules pages make the pack especially notable for its treatment of Wall Advantage and Bocage, adding clarifications and examples of play. The scenarios range from early June actions to battles in July and August, including “Raff’s Dilemma,” “First Cristot,” “Bocage Blockage,” “Infiltrators,” and “The Head of the Mace.”

ASL Action Pack #4: Normandy 1944 requires Beyond Valor, Yanks, Code of Bushido, Croix de Guerre, and Doomed Battalions. It combines new scenarios, maps, and revised rules material in a focused Normandy-themed addition to the ASL system.
