About this expansion

Escape: The Curse of the Temple – Queenie 6: The Maze is a 2014 addition for 1–6 players, offering a 10-minute challenge built around new chambers, curses, and treasures.

The Mirage Chamber changes the temple’s layout as soon as it is revealed: it replaces the Starting Chamber, which is then placed where the Mirage Chamber came from. In the Gear Chamber, players must roll two torches to slide one row or column of chamber tiles one space in a chosen direction. Every chamber in that row or column moves with it.

Two new curses create additional pressure. Weakest Link means that if you are not back in the start chamber when the countdown ends, everyone loses, and this curse cannot be lifted. With Misinformation, every newly discovered chamber requires players to yell “I found the exit” twice.

Three treasures provide different ways to manage the temple and its countdown:

  • Short Cut: When discovering a new chamber, search the entire draw pile and choose one, then reshuffle the pile.
  • Time Out: Pause the timer or soundtrack to plan, although no rolling is allowed while paused.
  • Genie Lamp: Draw the top three treasures, choose one, and return the others to the bottom of the stack.

With its shifting layout, irreversible curse, repeated calls of “I found the exit,” and carefully timed treasure effects, Queenie 6: The Maze adds fresh complications to Escape: The Curse of the Temple.
