Railways of Sweden

About this expansion

Railways of Sweden is a 2–5-player map expansion for the Railways of the World series, with an approximately 120-minute playing time. It requires pieces from either the Railways of the World or Railways of Nippon base game.

Set in Sweden during the early development of its national railway network, this map spans a country of striking contrasts. The north features snow-covered mountains, rugged terrain, forested hills, rivers, and countless lakes, while the south offers cultivated plains, large lakes, and canals.

Choose where to extend your railway network and weigh the challenges of different routes. You might develop ferry lines along the southeastern shoreline, or take on the difficult northern terrain in search of greater gains.

With its varied geography and distinct route possibilities, the expansion presents a new setting for the Railways of the World system. The optional snowy track tiles add a visual and thematic touch to the northern mountains, while the new cards and scoring tokens expand the available components.

Released in 2022, Railways of Sweden invites players to connect routes across a demanding landscape shaped by mountains, lakes, forests, plains, and coastal waterways.
