Railways of the World: Event Deck

About this expansion

Railways of the World: Event Deck is an event-card addition for 2–6 players that adds a new dimension to games of Railways of the World, with play typically lasting around 120 minutes.

In the base game, players build track between cities, develop faster locomotives, and deliver a limited supply of goods in an effort to become the most successful Rail Baron. This deck introduces an additional event system that can be used with the base game or any of its expansions.

To use the deck, create four areas near the game board: Event Deck, Future Event, Current Event, and Discard Pile. The Event Deck contains more cards than players will use in one game, so the events encountered can differ from one session to the next.

• Add the deck to the Railways of the World base game.
• Use it with any of the game’s expansions.
• Build custom decks instead of drawing randomly from the full collection.
• Create original events with four included blank cards.

Custom deck building lets players choose the character of their game. A deck can be packed with negative events for a more vicious experience, or filled with positive events for a more bountiful one. The deck can also be adjusted for each expansion map.

With its flexible card selection and player-created options, Railways of the World: Event Deck offers a different way to experience the series’ rail-building and goods-delivery challenge. The larger card pool ensures that the same combination of events does not have to appear in every game.
