About this expansion

Age of Steam Expansion: South America / South Africa is a mounted, double-sided expansion for 3–6 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Released in 2012, it pairs one map from each of two different Steam Brothers expansions into one southern-themed addition to Age of Steam.

Each side presents a distinct setting and its own rules. On the South Africa map, the new Engineer action allows a discount on track price, creating a specific rule around track construction. Angola and Rhodesia are special hexes that only produce goods.

The South America map introduces El Presidente and changes the Turn Order Pass action. These additions give the map its own identity while keeping both locations together in a single, reversible expansion.
